This coming Monday (21st March 2011) will be the first day of Iranian New Year. We call it Norouz or Norooz. In the Persian language, Norouz means “new day”. It marks the first day of spring. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox (the start of spring in the northern hemisphere). Many different countries celebrate Norouz, all of which were once part of the ancient Persian Empire or its neighbors.
Watch the video if you are interested to know more about Norouz and the ways we celebrate it. It’s great! Don’t miss it!
